Modern MEDION PCs and laptops which are not only capable of making available the key features of Windows Vista® (Windows Vista® Capable), but which are also capable of somewhat more thanks to their hardware structure, are described as „Windows Vista® Premium Ready“.

„Windows Vista® Premium Ready“ computers from MEDION fulfil the following technical preconditions:

  • modern processor with at least 1 GHz
  • 1 GB system memory (RAM)
  • DirectX 9-capable graphics processor with WDDM drive and at least 128 MB graphics memory, Pixel Shader 2.0 und 32 bit per pixel
  • 40 GB hard disk capacity with 15 GB free storage space
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • audio output
  • Internet access

On all MEDION computers that fulfil these preconditions, you can also use all the new and improved features such as the new Windows Vista® Aero user interface after upgrading from the Windows® XP Media Center Edition to Windows Vista® Premium. Special features, such as the option to record TV programmes or watch them live, require additional hardware if it isn't already included.

Conclusion: MEDION computers with the Media Center Edition that are labelled „Windows Vista® Premium Ready“, offer all the new features ensuring more security and reliability after an upgrade to Windows Vista® Home Premium. Furthermore, the new graphic user interface Windows Vista® Aero and other multimedia features are available to you with a suitable computer.
